I've been at a crossroads lately and have needed to step back and reevaluate. I don't want to stop making any of my designs but I must be practical. I'm not sure I can afford to keep trying to fill certain collections with stock so sadly I will probably be fizzling out certain products. Textiles are the first to go and there's huge reductions on these just to try to recover material costs, not making time. Looking to the future I may just make Esme acorn hats and nothing else and list on etsy. I love how portable hats are. We shall see, might stop altogether.
Next up is a decision to return to where Fairysteps began, with simply fairytale inspired shoes only. My original seven styles initially. Then boots.
For now though I have stock sandals ready to last and a batch of stock shoes which are nearly ready to sole.
I have a few final bags cut which I will sew up soon but after that I'm stopping all leathergoods for the foreseeable and switching to footwear only.
Now the weather is warming I have some urgent homework (garden & painting) which must be completed before May so shoemaking will be squished in alongside. I may be quieter on social media but I will try to post diary updates on here regularly. Visit the homepage to see the latest.
Thank you my dears, always grateful, Ren x
